ప్రాచీన, స్వదేశీ విద్యావ్యవస్థను `అందమైన చెట్టు’ (beautiful tree) గా అభివర్ణించిన మహాత్మా గాంధీ దానిని బ్రిటిష్ వాళ్ళు నాశనం చేశారని బాధపడ్డారు. తాము నాశనం చేయదలుచుకున్న ఆ వ్యవస్థ గురించి బ్రిటిష్ వాళ్ళు ముందుగా అధ్యయనం చేసి, అనేక విలువైన విషయాలను నమోదు చేశారు కూడా. ప్రపంచంలోనే భారత్ ను విశ్వగురువుగా నిలిపిన ఆ అందమైన చెట్టు (స్వదేశీ విద్యావ్యవస్థ) ఎలా ఉండేది, దాని ద్వారా మనం ఎలాంటి అద్భుతాలు సాధించాము మొదలైన విషయాలను శ్రీ ఖండవల్లి సత్యదేవ ప్రసాద్ వ్రాసిన ఈ `చదువుల చెట్టు’ ద్వారా తెలుసుకోవచ్చును.

This is a succinct adaptation in Telugu of ‘The Beautiful Tree” written by Sri Dharampal. The book elaborate on the original British records on the wonderful education system that Bharat had, which the Britishers systematically destroyed.
