These streams, which have stormed western society and communist groups, have now actively intruded into the Indian socio-political milieu. The moment these concepts encounter with Indian realities ,they display their inherent contradictions and limitations. But seldom an Indian alternative to such views is discussed.
This book is an attempt to understand the Indian approach through a comparative study aimed at addressing the issues related to the future women.

Vanavasis Or Tribals have made an enormous contribution to India’s civilisation; all major gods of the Hindu tradition have tribal links. Shiva was worshipped by forest-dwelling communities in large parts of the country, as were Vishnu’s incarnations as Varaha (boar) and Narasimha (lion). Lord Ayyappam in Kerala and Mata Vaishno Devi in Jammu also appear to have tribal links. All these gods and temples, as also that of Jagannath in Puri, enjoy pre-eminent status in the classical Hindu pantheon.

White Sahibs in India
White Sahibs in India
The White Sahibs In India’, a book written in 1937 by a sympathetic Englishman, Reginald Reynolds, is relentless in graphically exposing the dishonesty, the inhumanity, the brutality of the growth and maintenance of British rule in India. The book tells this disturbing story in clear, well-referenced terms; a story that has been carefully hidden away from us by our British-initiated, West-glorifying, India-bashing (subtly) education system.

Towards a Nationalist Narrative of India’s Ancient Past: Including Recent Research on the Indus Civilization
The present volume goes on to argue that post-Independence Indian archaeologists, despite making many new discoveries, have been most unashamedly neocolonial without the least awareness of the interrelationship between archaeological data and nationalism.
The volume deals with multiple aspects of this interrelationship and undertakes a critical review of the recent research on the Indus civilization, showing that the very idea of the integrity and homogeneity of this civilization, which is the fountainhead of India’s mainstream civilization, is being currently undermined by both Indian and foreign archaeologists who consider it only a veneer on top of the regional elements.

The Darkening Age : The Christian Destruction of the Classical World
The Darkening Age : The Christian Destruction of the Classical World
In The Darkening Age, Catherine Nixey tells the little-known – and deeply shocking – story of how a militant religion deliberately tried to extinguish the teachings of the Classical world, ushering in unquestioning adherence to the ‘one true faith’.
The Roman Empire had been generous in embracing and absorbing new creeds. But with the coming of Christianity, everything changed. This new faith, despite preaching peace, was violent, ruthless and intolerant. And once it became the religion of empire, its zealous adherents set about the destruction of the old gods. Their altars were upturned, their temples demolished and their statues hacked to pieces. Books, including great works of philosophy and science, were consigned to the pyre. It was an annihilation.
